I met Eduardo in the late 2000s at the Bank. I was struck by how polite, humble and soft spoken he was. He was easy going and so passionate about his work. I had the opportunity to go on missions with him and naturally we became friends. I will never forget his kindness; when I was pregnant with my first child he would check up on me often and gave me the most beautiful receiving blanket for my daughter. We would often discuss economic development topics and wildlife conservation; his passion was evident and contagious. When he left the World Bank Group we continued to exchange for a few years. I now am very sad that I did not reach out more often. He was a great friend and he left a good aura wherever he went. We will keep him in our hearts. Rest in peace Eduardo.
